Job Description
MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a highly motivated and tech-savvy college intern to join our Talent Management team and gain hands-on experience in instructional content development, learning technology and training program coordination. The intern will play a key role in creating and enhancing digital training resources, supporting the planning and logistics of leadership and employee training events and ensuring all materials are organized, accessible, and compliant with corporate branding guidelines.
We are looking for an intern eager to learn and grow, with strong web development, content management and visual design skills to support key Talent Management initiatives.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Branding and Graphic Design: Apply branding and graphic design skills to align all materials with our corporate communications branding guidelines, ensuring a consistent and professional look across training communications and materials.
- Video Editing and Creation: Edit and produce short tutorial videos to accompany job aids, using video editing software and effective design principles to ensure high-quality output.
- Training Program Support: Provide coordination support for training programs and events, including preparing participant materials, drafting communications, supporting logistics, tracking participation and organizing post-session feedback.
- Instructional Design: Use the Articulate Storyline program and an understanding of content creation principles to assist with simple updates to eLearning courses, perform quality checks, and support timely publishing/readiness.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage advanced technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products, to enhance the quality and efficiency of training deliverables.
- Collecting and Curating Job Aids: Gather and organize existing job aids for new managers, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant.
- Maintaining and Enhancing SharePoint Site: Maintain and enhance existing SharePoint pages/sites that house training materials and supplements ensuring ease of navigation, accessibility, version control and alignment with branding guidelines.
- Other Duties: Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Skills for Success
- Strong technical skills in web development and content management, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience managing SharePoint sites and applying accessibility and branding standards.
- Proficiency in video editing and basic instructional design tools such as Articulate Storyline.
- Ability to follow brand guidelines and apply established templates consistently.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
- Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources, Education, Information Technology, Communications, Web Development, Marketing, or a related field.
