Corning is seeking a motivated and technically curious Controls Engineering Intern to support the development and expansion of the Digital Factory Lab, an advanced automation training and demonstration platform. This internship offers hands-on experience with modern manufacturing technologies, including industrial robotics, machine vision, intelligent conveyance systems, programmable control systems, industrial networking, and automated material handling.
The Digital Factory Lab is designed not only as a hands-on automation training platform, but also as a testbed for emerging digital manufacturing concepts, including the collection and utilization of manufacturing data to support future artificial intelligence and intelligent automation applications.
As a member of the engineering team, you will work alongside experienced controls and automation engineers to help design, build, program, test, document, and demonstrate a state-of-the-art training platform used to teach advanced manufacturing concepts and emerging automation technologies.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to work on a highly visible automation platform that integrates robotics, vision, controls, networking, and advanced manufacturing technologies into a single learning environment. The platform is also being developed as a foundation for future data-driven manufacturing applications, enabling exploration of artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, digital twins, and intelligent decision-support technologies within industrial environments. Interns will gain practical engineering experience, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute directly to future training and demonstration capabilities across Corning. Build systems that generate the manufacturing data, connectivity, and operational context needed for AI-driven manufacturing solutions.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
