This is a 1st shift position located on-site in Reno, NV or South Portland, ME.
Support testing and evaluation of products against global standards for energy storage systems, high-power inverters, converters, and related power electronics equipment.
Execute product safety testing and support construction reviews in accordance with applicable standards and test plans.
Perform grid interoperability testing, troubleshooting, data analysis, and documentation.
Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external labs, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot equipment under test, identify issues, and support practical solutions while maintaining project timelines and safe work practices.
Support test automation using AC/DC power sources, measurement equipment, electronic load banks, and power conversion systems.
Assist with test planning, schedule tracking, Gantt charts, and project execution activities.
Design, build, and use test fixtures, test equipment, and lab setups to support certification and compliance testing.
Set up test configuration hardware and firmware, execute tests, and post-process test results.
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve testing efficiency and support the certification process.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of high-voltage systems, electrical principles, and the ability to read or support the development of electrical wiring diagrams.
Familiarity with electrical schematics, layout drawings, test setups, and other technical documentation.
Hands-on exposure to lab equipment such as Yokogawa power analyzers, grid simulators, RLC load banks, and communication interfaces is preferred.
Strong Python skills; experience with Pytest or test automation is a plus.
Exposure to NRTL, product certification, or global compliance processes is a plus.
Strong lab testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and reporting skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and compliance teams.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while taking direction and feedback from team members.
Willingness to travel as needed.
