Intern - Autonomation
Based at Silueta, Biyagama
We are seeking a proactive and innovative Intern – Automation to support automation and process innovation initiatives within the organization. The role provides hands-on exposure to mechanical design, automation projects, engineering trials, and continuous improvement activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support mechanical design and simulation activities using CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD.
- Assist in automation-related projects, including design, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Conduct project trials, experiments, and performance evaluations to support innovation initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and present operational data to support project decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support JIG workshop activities and contribute to JIG and fixture innovation projects.
- Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to implement process improvement solutions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Undergraduate pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of 3D design, electrical control panels, wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to conduct experiments, analyze results, and support engineering projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
