The Provider Engagement Intern supports the Health Plan's Provider Engagement and Quality Improvement teams by conducting onsite medical record retrieval at provider offices to support HEDIS® gap closure and quality improvement initiatives. The intern will work directly with provider practices to locate, review, and securely retrieve clinical documentation needed to validate completion of targeted HEDIS services, with a primary focus on high-priority and triple-weighted measures, including, CIS – Childhood Immunization Status, IMA – Immunizations for Adolescents, BPD – Blood Pressure Control for Patients with Diabetes – CBP-Controlling High Blood Pressure and additional HEDIS measures may be assigned based on Health Plan performance priorities and quality improvement needs. The intern serves as an extension of the Provider Engagement team in the field and will help strengthen relationships with provider offices while supporting timely and accurate collection of medical records needed to close identified quality gaps.
