The Position

Position: Intern

Location: Hyderabad

Roche has established Global Analytics and Technology Center of Excellence (GATE) at Chennai and Hyderabad to drive analytics & technology driven solutions by partnering with Roche affiliates across the globe.

As an intern, you will work closely with Project leads to execute projects for stakeholders in the business teams across Roche’s global affiliates. The projects can be in the domains of Business Research, Analytics, Data Science, and Technology to deliver solutions to real-world business problems. You will be required to understand healthcare industry, business and mathematical logic and execute solutions using analytical thinking/technical skills.

In this role, you will:

● Turn Science into Business Insights: Use your biotech background to understand competitor pipelines, how new drugs work, and clinical trial updates, helping the team see the big picture & business impact.

● Track Competitors & Market Trends: Help monitor the global healthcare market by tracking new drug launches, pricing, and clinical trial progress using public and industry databases.

● Experiment with GenAI: Work with AI tools (like ChatGPT/LLMs) to summarize long clinical trial reports, read through company earnings calls, and speed up our research process.

● Follow Major Medical Conferences: Help the team prepare for massive global healthcare events (like ASCO and JP Morgan) by tracking what competitor data they are about to release.

● Spot Industry & Trigger Events & Keep an eye out for major industry news like new FDA approvals, breakthrough designations, or company mergers that could change the market.

● Learn Premium Industry level Tools & Databases: Get hands-on experience and training with top-tier professional research platforms (like Clarivate, AlphaSense, and EvaluatePharma) that experts use everyday.

● Present the findings from the analyses to the stakeholders in an effective and structured fashion

● Develop knowledge of the rapidly changing healthcare marketplace

● Contribute to the internal initiatives and help grow the GATE team

Education:

● UG: B.Tech/B.E. – (Biotechnology, Pharma sciences and related specializations)

Qualifications:

● Overall experience of 0-1 years in the analytics / consulting /technology space

● Strong quantitative aptitude and logical thinking ability is required

● Ability to search & study scientific literature to derive relevant data points and derive insights

across different data sources (e.g. CT.gov, PubMed etc.)

● Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

● Working knowledge of Python, SQL, Excel is an added advantage

● Highly motivated, learning oriented and quality focused individuals would be preferred
