Job Title: Finance Intern – Technology Cost Management

Location: Bangalore

Department: Finance / Business Partnering

Work Mode: Hybrid

Shift Time: 12:00PM – 9:00PM

Introduction to the role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the BU Finance team in managing technology costs. The intern will work closely with the Technology Head and Finance Business Partners to ensure effective cost governance, alignment on budgets, and accurate financial reporting.

Some of the things you will be doing:

  • Technology Cost Management:
    Track, monitor, and maintain BU technology-related costs, ensuring accuracy and control within approved budgets.
  • Cost Approval Process:
    Manage and coordinate the technology cost approval workflow, ensuring compliance with internal approval policies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Partner with the Technology Head and other key stakeholders to align on technology cost planning, actuals, and forecast adjustments.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support:
    Assist in the preparation and system submission of the technology budget and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Monthly Reporting & Variance Analysis:
    Prepare monthly variance reports comparing actual technology spend to budget and forecast, and assist in identifying and explaining variances to management.
  • Ad-hoc Financial Support:
    Provide assistance on various ad-hoc financial analysis, data validation, and reporting tasks related to technology spend.

What Technical Skills, Experience, and qualifications do you need

  • Basic knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and cost management principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage data accurately.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with both finance and technology teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; exposure to financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion) is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a professional environment.
  • Currently pursuing a professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA) in Finance or Accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree (ongoing or completed) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
