Position Summary
Averhealth is seeking a motivated, curious and detail‑oriented Finance Intern for Summer 2026 to support our Accounting and Finance teams. This internship is designed for students interested in gaining hands‑on experience in corporate finance, accounting operations, and revenue cycle processes within a mission‑driven healthcare organization.
As a Finance Intern, you will assist with daily financial activities, learn core accounting principles in a real‑world environment, and contribute to projects that support accuracy, efficiency, and financial integrity across the organization.
Work Hours: Monday - Thursday 9:00 AM EST - 5:00 PM EST
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in gathering, organizing, and validating financial data used for monthly forecasts and budget updates
• Support variance analysis by comparing actual results to budgeted or forecasted performance
• Help prepare financial dashboards, trend reports, and KPI summaries for leadership review
• Participate in building and maintaining financial models under the guidance of FP&A team members
• Assist in identifying drivers behind revenue, cost, and operational performance changes
• Contribute to preparing materials for monthly business reviews and departmental reporting
Financial Operations & Analytical Tasks
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial datasets used for analysis
• Help evaluate current financial processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with Finance team members on cross‑functional projects, including cost analysis, productivity tracking, and scenario modeling
• Gain exposure to budgeting tools, reporting systems, and advanced Excel‑based analysis techniques
QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
This internship is ideal for students who are:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Familiar with basic accounting principles
• Comfortable working with numbers and performing data entry
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
• Strong communicators with solid problem‑solving skills
• Organized, detail‑oriented, curious, and eager to learn
• Team‑oriented and able to manage time effectively
