Who’s the Right Fit?

We are looking for in-home and in-person Intermediate Generalist Tutors to support students in Grades 4–10across North Toronto and Downtown Toronto The ideal candidate is a well-rounded educator who is comfortable teaching multiple subjects and thrives on helping students succeed through engaging, personalized instruction.

Qualified candidates will have experience tutoring or teaching intermediate-aged students and be comfortable providing in-home, in-person instruction, with the option to support students online as needed. Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum across core subject areas is essential.

As a Prep Academy Tutor, You Will:

• Empower students with personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario curriculum for Grades 4–10.
• Tutor students across core subject areas, including Math, English, Science, Social Studies, French (where applicable), and study/organization skills
• Develop customized learning plans that address each student's unique strengths, challenges, and academic goals.
• Help students strengthen foundational skills, improve confidence, and develop effective learning strategies.
• Provide remedial support for students who need extra help and enrichment opportunities for those seeking additional challenges.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, projects, assignments, and tests.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and areas for improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking knowledgeable, compassionate educators who meet at least one of the following qualifications:

• Hold current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
• Are a certified teacher in Canada or the United States (or are in the process of becoming one).
• Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program.
• Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian or U.S. college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or tutoring students in Grades 4–10
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum across multiple subject areas.
• Ability to confidently teach several core subjects rather than specializing in just one.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to students' homes in North Toronto and Downtown Toronto
• A passion for helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and become independent learners.
