We serve a diverse range of municipal, Indigenous, and private sector clients—and we’re looking for an Intermediate CAD / Revit and Civil 3D Designer to help us deliver exceptional infrastructure solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key technical contributor to our engineering design team, developing detailed drawings and design deliverables for land development, water/wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with engineers and project managers to interpret designs, coordinate technical information, and take ownership of assigned drawing packages from preliminary design through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently develop detailed engineering drawings including plan/profile views, site plans, grading layouts, details, and sections.
  • Produce water and wastewater infrastructure drawings, including watermains and sewers, pump stations, site layouts, process/mechanical layouts, equipment arrangements, and process and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Interpret engineering designs and technical information and translate them into accurate, complete, and constructible drawing packages.
  • Apply applicable municipal, provincial, and industry standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate drawing requirements with engineers, project managers, surveyors, contractors, and other disciplines.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements; identify potential design conflicts and constructability concerns.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and support design calculations as required.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including responding to contractor inquiries and preparing drawing revisions.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting established timelines and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge-sharing to junior designers and technicians.

What You Bring

  • Diploma in Civil/Environmental/Construction Management, Computer Drafting (AutoCAD/Civil 3D), or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering design and drafting experience, preferably with municipal infrastructure, land development, or water/wastewater projects.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D with the ability to independently develop detailed engineering drawing packages.
  • Experience with Revit and/or other BIM platforms is an asset.
  • Experience producing water and wastewater infrastructure drawings.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, municipal infrastructure design principles, and applicable technical standards and specifications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and PDF editing tools.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach and willingness to support the development of junior team members.
  • CADD work samples may be requested for consideration of work quality.

Bonus Skills (Assets)

  • Experience with municipal infrastructure design, including horizontal and vertical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with BIM, MicroStation, OpenRoads, or other design and modelling platforms.
  • Experience with municipal design standards and specifications in Manitoba and/or Ontario.
  • Exposure to project management and contract administration.

What Success Looks Like

  • You independently manage assigned drawing packages and deliver accurate, high-quality work on schedule.
  • You apply sound technical judgment and identify design, coordination, and constructability issues.
  • You collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other disciplines.
  • You respond professionally to field inquiries and changing project requirements.

  • You demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a commitment to quality project delivery.
