About Our Client

Our client is an independent accounting and advisory practice based in Red Hill, led by two Directors and supported by a team of 18.

Clients span construction, professional services, healthcare, hospitality, retail, manufacturing and property development, alongside family groups and high wealth individuals.

Many businesses have annual turnovers between $1 million and $20 million, with some larger groups exceeding $50 million. Structures range from companies, trusts and partnerships to SMSFs and complex groups, offering variety in both the clients and technical matters encountered.

Beyond compliance, the practice advises on acquisitions, due diligence, cash flow forecasting, succession planning, restructuring and ongoing CFO-style services.

A fully cloud-based environment supports the work, with Xero, XPM and FYI Docs among the core systems.

The Role

Working closely with senior accountants, supervisors, managers and Directors, you will prepare tax and accounting work, follow up on client information and build greater ownership of assignments with appropriate oversight.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
  • Preparing financial statements, BAS and IAS, and assisting with PAYG obligations
  • Following up on information and supporting clients with general accounting and tax queries
  • Researching taxation issues and discussing findings with senior colleagues
  • Using Xero, XPM and FYI Docs to manage client work and workflow
  • Assisting with business advisory projects under the guidance of experienced staff
  • Applying review feedback to strengthen technical accuracy and judgement
  • Managing assigned deadlines and keeping colleagues informed of progress

The role provides a strong grounding in tax and business services, with broader exposure developing as your capability grows.

  • Good organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Confidence working independently within your capability and seeking guidance when needed
  • A proactive approach to learning and applying feedback

Experience with Xero, XPM, MYOB, FYI Docs or BGL Simple Fund will be viewed favourably.

  • $80,000 to $95,000 + superannuation
  • Half-yearly bonuses
  • On-site staff parking and flexible working arrangements
  • Client contact and manager and Director mentorship from day one
