Reporting to the Manager, Finance, we are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant with 3-5 years of financial accounting experience to join the Corporate Accounting team. In this role, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of financial entries and in-depth analysis of the general ledger accounts supporting the financial statements of CI Investments and subsidiaries/affiliates.

LOCATION: Toronto (M5C 3G7)
STATUS: Full-time

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, we are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant with 3-5 years of financial accounting experience to join the Corporate Accounting team. In this role, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of financial entries and in-depth analysis of the general ledger accounts supporting the financial statements of CI Investments and subsidiaries/affiliates.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist in the month end close process by preparing and recording journal entries
  • Primary contact with portfolio operations for the processing of management fees and the calculation of expense recoveries from the funds
  • Reconciling and preparation of working papers to support general ledger balances
  • Analysis of monthly trends in expenses
  • Support cash management by assisting with the processing of wires
  • Assist with annual audits by providing supporting documents

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • At least 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Investment/Mutual fund industry experience preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Finance/Accounting
  • Working towards a CPA designation preferred
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and work efficiently to meet monthly reporting deadlines
  • Detailed-oriented, extremely self-motivated and dedicated, and a good team player
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision / direction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications with a focus on Excel
  • Experience with general ledger system an asset
