We make health happen

At Bupa, our purpose is simple: helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. With no shareholders, we reinvest our profits into improving healthcare for our customers, partners and communities.

As an Intermediary Relationship Consultant, you'll play a key part in supporting the growth and retention of our Individual broker portfolio across the EEA region. Your work strengthens the partnerships that help customers access high‑quality international health insurance. You’ll guide brokers, solve complex queries, and help create seamless experiences from first contact to onboarding and renewal.

You’ll join Bupa Global—a truly international business providing premium international private medical insurance to customers around the world. Your role contributes directly to our aim of being loved by customers, building trusted relationships across markets, and continually improving how we deliver exceptional health protection.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Build strong, profitable relationships with assigned brokers, offering proactive support and identifying opportunities to grow the Individual portfolio.

  • Manage all aspects of your portfolio, including new business, renewals, retention, pricing discussions and day‑to‑day broker needs.

  • Support onboarding of new brokers and nurture long‑term relationships across the broker network.

  • Deliver high‑quality customer care—taking ownership of issues, following best practice, and working with internal teams to resolve queries.

  • Maintain exceptional service standards aligned with Sales Management guidelines, internal compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Handle complaints effectively and escalate when needed.

  • Keep product and service knowledge up to date so you can confidently support broker partners and consultatively sell our solutions.

  • Monitor competitor activity and share insights with colleagues to strengthen our market position.

  • Build positive internal relationships across Bupa Global, working collaboratively to resolve complex cases and support continuous improvement.

  • Deliver sales activity—including renewal conversations, objection handling, quoting, policy changes, billing queries, and managing lapses.

  • Make outbound calls to generate new opportunities and secure leads across the region.

  • Manage administrative tasks effectively alongside daily broker interactions.

  • Support a continuous improvement culture—identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance performance.

  • Live Bupa’s values, acting as a role model for positive conduct and customer‑centric behaviour.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • A background in global health insurance, or transferable experience from financial services.

  • Experience working within regulatory frameworks and managing third‑party relationships.

  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle, including pricing, risk management, distribution and product development.

  • Experience negotiating and managing high‑value agreements.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and achieve strong outcomes.

  • A passion for delivering outstanding service and creating great experiences for broker partners.
