We celebrate innovation, diversity, and build an environment that keeps our team members highly engaged while developing lifelong relationships. Our success is driven by empowering our employees' passions, ideas, and providing work-life balance.

Day in the Life of an Interiors Estimator

Are you energized by the details that bring a project together? Do you enjoy solving problems, analyzing costs, building relationships, and helping teams make informed decisions? If so, Granger's Interiors team may be the perfect place to grow your career.

As an Interiors Estimator, you'll play a critical role in the preconstruction process by developing accurate, competitive estimates for interior construction projects. Beyond estimating, you'll help support business growth by building industry relationships, identifying new opportunities, and staying attuned to emerging market trends that help position the Interiors Division for long-term success.

Working closely with project managers, field leaders, vendors, trade partners, and customers, you'll help shape projects long before construction begins and ensure they are set up for success every step of the way.

You Will:

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for interior construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope requirements, risks, and opportunities
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals
  • Develop scopes of work and assist in preparing complete bid packages
  • Collaborate with Operations and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project handoffs
  • Participate in value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities for customers and project teams
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and industry partners
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, assisting with customer outreach, and helping grow relationships with new and existing clients
  • Research market trends, industry developments, and emerging market opportunities to support strategic growth initiatives within the Interiors Division
  • Participate in bid-day activities, proposal preparation, and project pursuit strategies
  • Help ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and aligned with project goals, customer expectations, and company objectives
  • Represent Granger's values through professionalism, collaboration, and exceptional customer service

What You Bring

You are analytical, detail-oriented, and relationship-focused. You enjoy solving problems, collaborating with others, and looking beyond the numbers to understand how projects come together. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by contributing to both project success and business growth.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Estimating, project engineering, project management, or related construction experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction-related technology platforms
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and take initiative

What Sets You Apart

While not required, you'll stand out if you have experience with:
  • Commercial interiors construction, including drywall, ceilings, finishes, carpentry, or specialty trades
  • Estimating software and digital takeoff platforms
  • Procore, Viewpoint, Bluebeam, or similar construction technologies
  • Business development, customer relationship management, or networking within the construction industry
  • Market analysis, strategic planning, or identifying emerging business opportunities
  • High emotional intelligence and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
  • A builder's mindset and passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
