Job Description

Responsible for the general condition of walls, ceilings, and flooring in all TJRH properties. Perform duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair and a safe working condition. Performs maintenance and urgent corrective and routine repairs for minor electrical, mechanical, Medgas, HVAC and plumbing systems and other duties as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

§ High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience

§ Previous experience preferred.

§ On the job training will be provided

Required Skills

§ Good knowledge of paints and finishes

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

§ Keeps equipment clean.

§ Must repaint or replace all ceiling tiles as needed.

§ Lays floor tile.

§ Paints walls as needed.

§ Refinishes doors.

§ Hangs vinyl.

§ Keeps paint room organized.

§ Keeps good records on painting schedules.

§ Orders supplies.

§ Figures amount of supplies needed for jobs.

§ Patches wall and vinyl tears.

§ Willing to adjust schedules for less downtime.

§ Patches floors.

§ Demonstrates appropriate awareness for suspected abuse/neglect to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and take measures to report them according to protocol.

§ Confidentiality must be maintained for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

§ Assists with maintaining the preventive maintenance program(s) on minor electrical, mechanical, Medgas, HVAC and plumbing systems.

§ Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.

§ Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, Medgas, HVAC and plumbing systems as required.

§ Observes mechanical devices in operation, disassembles equipment to repair and/or replace defective parts, and/or tests equipment to ensure devices are in good operation order in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, blueprints and manufactures’ specifications.
