Maintains all facilities’ interior finishes, ensuring that buildings are maintained in a safe and aesthetically pleasing condition to provide an appropriate environment for the wellbeing of patients, visitors, and staff. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work with brushes, rollers, spray guns, levels, squares, and other tools of the trade
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural floor plans and interior finish schedules
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Responsibilities

  • Removes materials from surfaces according to architectural plans, estimates material and labor costs, orders materials, and schedules the work to include the coordination and scheduling of the painters’ work orders.
  • Receives and obtains materials according to departmental procedures and observes proper onsite handling while maintaining a clean, safe working area in accordance with hospital and regulatory agency policies.
  • Obtains, receives, and maintains required inventory of materials according to departmental procedures and selects appropriate finishes from the approved interior design standards.
  • Repairs and maintains all interior finishes, including wall and ceiling reconstruction, floor tile, cove base repair or replacement, and plastic laminate repair.
  • Supports the beautification program.
  • Uses appropriate rollers, brushes, spray equipment, and other tools for application of all interior finishes, including paint, wallpaper, cove base, floor tile, plastic laminate, ceiling tile, and drywall.
  • Keeps tools, equipment, and paint storeroom clean, organized, and safe.
  • Understands and complies with all system policies and procedures, including infection control, safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration procedures and regulations.
  • Meets all in-service requirements.
