Job Description

Interior Designer

Melbourne | Full-time | Mid-Level to Senior

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our Design team in Melbourne and we're open to the right person being at Mid-Level or Senior level, depending on your experience. This is a workplace design role so we're after someone with a strong interiors background and a portfolio of built commercial projects.

You'll play a key role in delivering workplace design solutions that are functional, visually considered and aligned to each client's brand and brief, contributing across spatial planning, concept development, technical documentation and presentation materials. Depending on your seniority, you'll either be leading projects end-to-end or working closely alongside senior designers to build toward that.

You'll bring a solid understanding of design and construction processes, sustainability principles and base building services, applying these to translate client briefs into compliant, high-quality design outcomes.

If you have a keen eye for detail, enjoy collaborating across teams, and are motivated by balancing creative thinking with technical capability, we'd love to hear from you.

Here are some examples of what you'll do

  • Contribute to or lead project across all stages: concept, design development, documentation and delivery
  • Develop creative and functional design solutions for commercial interiors
  • Prepare high-quality presentations and client-facing materials
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Coordinate documentation, ensure quality requirements are achieved and design intent is carried through to construction
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • (Senior level) Lead client engagement, concept design and project teams, mentoring mid-level and junior designers along the way

Here's what will make you ideal for the role

  • 4-8+ years' experience in commercial interior design
  • Interior Design Diploma or Degree
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating commercial project experience, ideally end-to-end
  • Proficiency in Revit, Twinmotion, Enscape and Adobe Suite
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships with confidence
  • Experience coordinating with consultants and subcontractors
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
