Tax Specialist (Freelance /ZZP)

Make a  difference as Tax Specialist 

In this role, you are responsible for strengthening tax compliance while proactively advising on global tax matters. You operate at a tactical and operational level, with a strong focus on analysis, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. Your key responsibilities: 

• Design, implement,monitorand continuously improve the Global Tax Control Framework, ensuring effective controls and consistent application across entities

• Develop global tax policies and take ownership for their practical implementation

• Monitor,analyseand explain the Group Effective Tax Rate (ETR), including variance analysis, translate outcomes into clear management insights and actively improve the ETR process

• Review tax returns and supporting documentation,identifyrisks and opportunities and ensure follow-up actions

• Act as the global point of contact for VAT/GST matters, providing practical guidance and support to local stakeholders worldwide

• Manage andmaintainthe Transfer Pricing framework, ensuring correct implementation and compliance requirements are met

• Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects, providing tax advice and risk analyses

• Identifyand drive process and technology improvements to increase tax efficiency

• Ensure that applicable tax incentives arerealised, such as R&D tax credits, innovationboxand investment incentives

• Work closely with business units, finance, legal, tax authorities and external advisors

• Support and manage other diverse tax projects on an ad hoc basis 

You will collaborate closely with the Global Tax Manager and stakeholders across Finance Operations, Business Control, Data & Analytics, and external advisors. The role is global in scope, requiring frequent interaction with international stakeholders across time zones in a dynamic, hybrid working setup.

Your profile

• AMaster’sdegree in a relevant field (e.g.Tax Law or Tax Economics)

• 6+years of relevant experience in international tax (corporate tax and/or VAT/GST)

• Solid knowledge of global tax compliance and regulations

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proven ability to advise stakeholders and translate complex topics into clear actions

• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)

• A proactive,independentand collaborative mindset, with the ability tooperatein an international environment

• Engagement based on an independent contractor agreement (no employment relationship)

• Youoperateas an independent professional andare responsible foryour own business operations (e.g.tools,insurances, taxes)

• Project-based collaboration with defined deliverables and outcomes

• Hybrid working possible in alignment with the team and project needs
