At Warbird Healthcare Advisors, we are continuously building a network of experienced Interim Controllers to support our clients in various healthcare settings - from large integrated health systems, physician groups, Academic Medical Centers, and standalone facilities. While there are no current openings, we are proactively seeking experienced professionals who are interested in interim controller opportunities within the healthcare industry to be considered for future engagements.

• Job Title: Interim Healthcare Controller (Future Opportunities)

• Compensation: Competitive, 1099 or W2 salary plus travel expenses

What You’ll Do (Scope May Vary by Assignment):

• Lead and manage all financial functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, annual/monthly statement preparation, inventory, fixed assets, receivables/payables, Payroll and reconciliations.
• Coordinate tax returns, audits, and reviews with outside accountants along with maintaining the treasury relationship with the banks and financial lenders.
• Oversee general accounting, revenue cycle, and cost reporting functions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls
• Stabilize or optimize financial processes during periods of organizational change

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
• CPA or MBA preferred

• Minimum seven (7) years' proven experience as a Controller or senior financial leader in a healthcare or hospital setting
• Track record of success in interim, consulting, or project-based roles
• Experience with major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech)
• Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and cost reporting
• Comfortable adapting quickly to new environments and challenges
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
