Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Pacific Northwest (Onsite)

Our healthcare client, a growing network of specialty physician practices in the Pacific Northwest market, is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide immediate leadership and stabilization for its finance and accounting operations.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role within a smaller healthcare organization that requires an executive who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working alongside the team while driving operational and financial improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all finance, accounting, and revenue cycle operations
• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Assess and stabilize accounting and finance processes that are currently fragmented and heavily manual
• Provide leadership and oversight of revenue cycle performance, including billing, collections, and reimbursement processes
• Direct supply chain and purchasing-related financial operations
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational efficiencies
• Partner with executive leadership to improve financial visibility and support strategic decision-making
• Evaluate current systems and help prepare the organization for a planned migration to Workday
• Mentor and develop existing finance staff while establishing accountability and structure

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience serving as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, or senior financial executive within healthcare
• Strong understanding of healthcare finance, accounting, revenue cycle, and operational performance management
• Demonstrated success working in smaller healthcare organizations where leaders are expected to be highly hands-on
• Experience managing manual or underdeveloped financial processes and implementing operational improvements
• Ability to lead both strategically and tactically, including direct involvement in day-to-day accounting activities when necessary
• Experience overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, cash management, and budgeting functions
• Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within specialty physician practice, outpatient healthcare, or related healthcare settings
• Prior involvement with ERP implementations or finance system transformations
• Experience with Workday planning, readiness assessments, or implementation support

Ideal Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will be a hands-on healthcare finance leader who thrives in smaller environments, is comfortable operating without extensive infrastructure, and has a track record of bringing order, discipline, and accountability to challenged finance functions. This is not a role for someone seeking a purely strategic CFO position; the client needs a leader who can both set direction and actively help execute the work.
