Job Description

Join GE Precision Healthcare LLC as an Inter/Co-op Advanced Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness for our cutting-edge healthcare products. This co-op position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic, high-tech environment.

  • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for medical devices and components.
  • Support the implementation of new equipment, tooling, and automation solutions on the production floor.
  • Conduct process capability studies, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement in manufacturing yields and quality.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to manufacturing issues.
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, and Production, to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform time studies and lean manufacturing analyses to identify and eliminate waste in production processes.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new manufacturing technologies and materials.
  • Support the validation of manufacturing processes and equipment.


Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, welding, or additive manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
