The Opportunity

We are looking for an Interaction Designer who is passionate about creating intuitive, human-centred digital experiences and excited by the possibilities of emerging technologies.

You will play a key role in shaping innovative products and services from concept through delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of designers, engineers, strategists, and data scientists. You'll help translate complex challenges into elegant, user-focused solutions while balancing business objectives, user needs, and technological possibilities.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge initiatives spanning AI, Generative AI, voice interfaces, and mixed reality, helping define how people interact with the next generation of digital experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Solve complex end-to-end design challenges, from research and insight generation through to final product experiences.
  • Create and communicate design solutions through wireframes, journey maps, information architecture, prototypes, interaction flows, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, strategists, data scientists, and innovation practitioners to bring ideas to life.
  • Conduct and support design research activities, translating findings into actionable insights and design opportunities.
  • Rapidly prototype concepts and validate ideas through stakeholder and user feedback.
  • Explore emerging technologies and identify new opportunities to create meaningful user experiences.
  • Present and defend design decisions with clarity and confidence to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Support business development activities, workshops, and client engagements through design expertise and thought leadership.
  • Represent The Dock within the wider design and innovation community through events, workshops, and industry engagement.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years' experience in Interaction Design, Product Design, UX Design, Service Design, or a related discipline.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional user experience and interaction design thinking.
  • Experience designing and delivering digital products and services within collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and emerging AI-enabled design tools.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience applying human-centred design methodologies, rapid prototyping, and design research techniques.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to connect user needs, business objectives, and design solutions.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, particularly AI and Generative AI.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with service design methodologies and systems thinking.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience creating concept models at both user and system levels.
  • Knowledge of adjacent design disciplines including Visual Design, Content Design, and Business Design.
  • Experience working on AI-powered, conversational, voice, or immersive digital experiences.
