Job Description
An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Intellectual Property Paralegal within Brady’s Intellectual Property (IP) Department. Our IP Paralegal will provide general, day-to-day support for the IP Legal Team, to include the following key responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Provide paralegal and administrative support to Brady’s Intellectual Property (IP) Legal Team
- Respond to general questions and inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders about Brady’s legal and IP processes
- Identify, create and drive implementation of system, program, and process improvements
- Independently drive the Brady IP product review and patent prosecution processes
- Prepare legal documents and reports
- Manage intellectual property filings and docketing
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience working as an IP Paralegal either in-house at a public or other company, or at a law firm
- Qualification to be a paralegal by certification or education and work experience as approved by the American Bar Association
- Proficiency filing patent applications, office action responses and other correspondence with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Supporting global patent filings and prosecution including obtaining required documents, translations, and monitoring process timelines
- Experience maintaining docketing deadlines and a portfolio management database including data entry, docket review and preparation of reports for attorneys and business units
- High attention to detail, excellent written & oral communication skills
- Strong matter management experience, preferably IPfolio and/or Equinox, and computer skills including word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets
