Intellectual Property - Life Sciences Associate
We are seeking an experienced midlevel associate to join our Intellectual Property team in Chicago, focusing on patent prosecution in the life sciences sector. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a dynamic practice and advance their career.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the life sciences technology area, including biotechnology and related fields
• Conduct thorough searches and analyses of prior art to support patent prosecution
• Draft and prosecute patent applications, including responding to office actions and negotiating with patent examiners
• Provide strategic counsel to clients on intellectual property matters
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve client goals
Requirements
• 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience in a life sciences or biotechnology practice
• Advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in a life sciences technology area
• Patent bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) is required
• Strong understanding of patent law and regulations
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
