Job Description

Job Title: Intellectual Property (IP) Lawyer
Job Type: Full-Time / Remote
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, PST

Our client, an iconic lifestyle and creative brand with a global fan base, is looking for an Intellectual Property (IP) Lawyer to protect and manage its extensive portfolio of trademarks, copyrights, and licensed assets.

In this role, you will lead the protection, enforcement, and strategic use of intellectual property across multiple markets while contributing to the brand’s continued global expansion through partnerships, licensing, and product innovation.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and licensing, ensuring that all creative assets are safeguarded and used effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s global trademark and copyright portfolio
  • Draft, review, and negotiate licensing agreements, collaborations, and partnership contracts
  • Provide legal guidance on brand protection, merchandising, and product development initiatives
  • Monitor and enforce IP rights, including handling infringements, counterfeits, and unauthorized use
  • Collaborate with external counsel on trademark filings, renewals, and disputes across jurisdictions
  • Advise internal teams on proper usage of trademarks, copyrights, and brand assets
  • Support product launches, marketing campaigns, and collaborations with IP-related legal guidance
  • Conduct due diligence for licensing deals and new brand partnerships
  • Develop and maintain internal policies related to IP usage and brand protection
  • Assist in managing disputes, cease-and-desist actions, and enforcement strategies

Requirements

Requirements:

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience specializing in Intellectual Property law
  • Strong expertise in trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and brand protection
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating licensing and commercial agreements
  • Experience working with consumer brands, entertainment, fashion, or licensing-driven businesses
  • Familiarity with international IP protection and multi-jurisdictional filings
  • Strong understanding of brand enforcement strategies and anti-counterfeiting practices
  • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a creative, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders

  • Experience supporting global brand partnerships and licensing programs
  • Exposure to product development and merchandising workflows
  • Experience working with external legal counsel across multiple regions
