The County of Washington, Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking an Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist – Early Intervention Coordinator. Examples of duties

The Early Intervention Coordinator supports the quality and success of Early Intervention Services throughout Washington County. The role focuses on ensuring programs meet requirements and deliver effective support to eligible children and their families. As an Early Intervention Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Review: Examine Early Intervention programs to ensure they align with required standards
  • Regulation Interpretation: Interpret rules, regulations, and policies that guide Early Intervention Services
  • Service Coordination: Oversee the delivery and support of Early Intervention services for eligible children and families
  • Policy Knowledge: Apply extensive knowledge of IDEA, Act 212, and all relevant Intellectual Disability bulletins
  • Contract Oversight: Manage provider contracts and assist with determining program allocations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Required to work outside of normal scheduled hours (Evenings & Weekends).
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
