In this role, you will drive measurable improvements in performance and reliability for our Linux‑based patient monitoring platform by building automated measurement pipelines, turning telemetry into actionable insights, and enabling Agile product teams to deliver more reliable devices for global markets.

As a Software DevOps Engineer you operate at solution level within a Platform Team for patient monitoring software. You balance core DevOps responsibilities (CI/CD, orchestration, automation) with a primary mandate: design, implement and operate automated performance & reliability measurements, analyze results, and work hands‑on with engineering teams to remove regressions and optimize each team’s performance fingerprint.

…the Premium Line Monitors & Synergy SW Platform team within the ‘Hospital Patient Monitoring’ business of Philips. The position is located in Böblingen, Germany. We develop and produce patient monitoring solutions for a worldwide market. Our products are used in emergency and intensive care, pregnancy and neonatal monitoring, as well as for anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and run automated performance & reliability tests (load, latency, resource profiling, fault injection/chaos)

  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (pre merge and release gates) and maintain reproducible test environments

  • Deploy and operate observability and telemetry stacks (metrics, tracing, dashboards, long term storage) and automate data collection/aggregation

  • Analyze measured data and pair with Agile teams to implement and validate fixes

  • Coach teams on measurable performance requirements and embed reliability practices into the SDLC.

  • Support production performance/reliability incidents with root cause analysis and follow up actions.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have a Bachelor oder MasterDegree in Software Engineering, Technical Engineering, Medical Engineering

  • 5 years Linux expertise and embedded SW experience (cross compile, toolchains, constrained resources)

  • Embedded Linux Expertise (ideal Yocto)

  • Analytical mind with good debugging skills in embedded software systems

  • Understanding of performance optimizations in embedded systems

  • Senior C++ and Python knowledge

  • Experience with automated performance/reliability testing and observability tooling

  • CI/CD automation skills and strong scripting (Python, Bash, GitHub workflows)

  • Open communicator as he/she will have many connections to many teams

  • Experience in product development with a platform approach (platform architecture, reusable components and with variant management)

Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is € 93,050.83 –€ 124,067.77. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations.

This role is eligible for Short Term Incentive, with your rewards linked to individual performance and company results. We’ll share the full approach with you during the interview process, so you can make a clear, informed decision.
