AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Special Program Security Department of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking an undergraduate student to assist with projects involving the tracking and accountability of controlled material primarily supporting the Department of Defense with national security research initiatives.
Typical duties include:
Maintain multiple document control databases and verification of reproduction, distribution, destruction and receipt records
Assist with preparation of security forms for personnel submitted to research sponsors including initial submission, debriefs and periodic reinvestigations
Provide visitor control, verify current visit requests, and check visitor identification
Assist with periodic inventories and inspections
Review controlled items for proper inventory numbers and other required markings
Identify, improve, and implement processes to better safeguard and account for controlled material to ensure compliance with government regulations.
The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours/week over the summer. This is a paid internship opportunity located on-site in State College, PA. Relocation and housing are not provided.
