About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled ILS Manager to lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) solutions for advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
This role is critical in ensuring long-term system availability, reliability, and cost-effective supportability. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence through strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement within the Customer Services ILS function.
You will play a strategic and hands-on role in delivering robust support solutions, optimising system lifecycle performance, and strengthening customer relationships in complex, multi-tiered environments.
Qualifications and experience
Minimum B.Eng or BSc Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a logistics support environment.
Proven experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and systems engineering environments.
Strong background in reliability engineering, lifecycle management, and supportability analysis.
Key technical skills
Strong customer management and solution provisioning capability.
Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering Process.
Expertise in product lifecycle management and obsolescence management.
Experience with scope and change management in complex environments.
Advanced stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
Knowledge of customer-centric management techniques and tools.
Understanding of radio propagation and communication principles.
Ability to perform:
FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis)
Reliability and maintainability analysis
Support and test equipment analysis
Strong relationship-building and client engagement capability.
Key responsibilities
1. ILS Strategy, design and programme delivery
Lead ILS design and implementation across EW projects.
Develop ILS plans, maintenance strategies, and support documentation.
Execute projects within defined schedules, budgets, and resources.
Implement reliability programmes (FMECA, LSA) for proactive risk mitigation.
Integrate specialist engineering inputs to enhance system performance.
Manage technical and project risks to ensure stable delivery.
2. Reliability engineering and lifecycle optimisation
Conduct reliability and failure analysis to improve system performance.
Drive obsolescence management and lifecycle sustainability strategies.
Oversee configuration management and system upgrades.
Optimise stock, spares, and maintenance planning.
Develop cost-effective support models.
3. Client engagement and solution development
Engage with clients to understand operational requirements
Design integrated, customer-aligned support solutions
Evaluate technical and financial feasibility of solution options
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
Communicate complex technical concepts effectively
4. Technical proposals, reporting and governance
Support tender processes with technical analysis and modelling.
Contribute to high-quality, compliant technical proposals.
Conduct site assessments and produce detailed technical reports.
Establish governance frameworks and documentation standards.
Ensure adherence to quality and compliance requirements.
5. Leadership, capability development and continuous improvement
Lead and develop high-performing ILS teams.
Implement training and development initiatives.
Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Support business growth through technical input and capability development.
