Job Summary

Lead nursing excellence in community health center

The Integrated Care Nurse Supervisor reports to the Integrated Care Nurse Manager, and oversees daily clinical operations, manages nursing staff, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care. They are responsible for staff development, workflow efficiency, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists and collaborates with the Nurse Manager and/or Vice President in all human resource functions for nursing including hiring, terminations, and disciplinary action.

Manage staff schedules and clinical assignments to ensure adequate coverage. Direct the allocation of resources to maintain patient safety and clinic efficiency.

Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of nursing and clinical support staff.

Monitor and maintain nursing protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Participates in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAI) process.

Assists in managing medical supplies and maintaining accurate clinical documentation and HIPAA compliance.

Deliver care to patients when need, including triage, care coordination and assessments in accordance with Ohio’s Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering treatments and medications in compliance with the practitioner(s) orders, standards of care, and applicable policy.

Respond to all staff call-offs or urgent staffing alerts and proactively identify and contact replacement personnel to fill open shifts caused by unscheduled absences.

Adheres to Infection Control protocols.

Promotes effective coordination, communication, and teamwork between departments and among medical staff.

Attend departmental meetings, as appropriate.

Ensure strict adherence to The Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school, BSN preferred

License or Certification: Current unrestricted Ohio RN license, BLS Certification,

Experience:

At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred

At least 1 year supervisory or leadership experience required

Most have demonstrated leadership of a nursing team and processes, preferably for a variety of patient populations

Most have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the unique needs of patients experiencing severe and persistent mental illness

At least 2 years' experience working in, training, and troubleshooting basic concerns and needs in EPIC.

Skills:

Must have the ability to lead a team of nurses in adapting to change and during psychiatric and physical health emergencies,

Must have proven skills in de-escalation situations and fostering a supportive culture for employee wellbeing in a challenging field

Must have a clear understanding of accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission), state/federal guidelines, conducting surveys, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily in an outpatient community health center/clinic setting with frequent patient contact and exposure to infectious diseases; PPE and infection-control practices are required.

Requires prolonged standing/walking, occasional lifting/moving of supplies or equipment (up to 25 lbs), and periods of computer/EMR use in a fast-paced environment with potential for exposure to behavioral health crises.

May require flexibility in schedule to meet operational needs, including occasional early/late coverage, response to urgent staffing issues, and participation in meetings or training.
