
The Intake Specialist at People First BPO is responsible for managing incoming patient referrals for homecare healthcare clients based primarily in the United States. This role serves as the first point of contact in the patient onboarding process, ensuring accurate data collection, insurance verification, and timely coordination of services while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Receive and process patient referrals from hospitals, physician offices, and partner healthcare providers
Accurately enter patient demographics, medical information, and service needs into client systems
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations with U.S.-based payers
Communicate with patients, families, and referral sources to obtain missing information and provide updates
Coordinate start-of-care by scheduling initial visits and aligning with clinical teams
Ensure all intake documentation meets client requirements and U.S. healthcare compliance standards
Maintain organized and up-to-date records in CRM/EHR systems
Follow up on pending or incomplete referrals to ensure timely processing
Collaborate with internal teams (scheduling, billing, and clinical coordination) to ensure seamless service delivery
Meet productivity, accuracy, and quality KPIs established by the company
Previous experience in healthcare intake, medical administration, or BPO operations is an advantage
Familiarity with U.S. insurance verification (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans) is a big Plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn multiple client systems
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
