This position provides clerical and administrative support to Intake Department; assists nurse with faxes, insurance look-ups, documents in AIS (BESTCare), communicate with hospitals, referral sources, and other duties as assigned. You will learn about the world of behavioral health and develop a lasting career in healthcare.

Aurora Charter Oak Hospital has been delivering Behavioral Health Treatment Services for over 83 years. We are located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley, close to 10, 60 and 210 FWY.

· High school degree, GED or equivalent required
· Clerical experience working in an office, doctor’s office highly preferred
· Insurance knowledge preferred
· Previous experience in healthcare preferred
· Telephone etiquette and customer service skills
· Computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel
· Data entry, time management, typing and organization skills
· Ability to maintain confidential information
· Current BLS for healthcare provider card upon hire
· Therapeutic Options Training (TOT) to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor
Aurora Charter Oak Behavioral Health Care is located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. We have been providing mental health and substance abuse treatment services at this same location since 1941. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley. The San Gabriel Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to our campus, which includes Aurora Charter Oak Hospital and the Charter Oak Recovery Center. Our campus includes three separate buildings featuring eight separate units for adolescents and adults requiring inpatient care, a Residential Treatment Center (RTC), an Outpatient Services building, and an Assessment Center which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our campus also includes a pool and a gymnasium.
