Salary Range:

$94,957.00 - $147,183.00The Business Systems Programmer/Analyst is responsible for analyzing current customer operations, including documenting current workflows, identify areas of improvement, collaboratively working with internal customers to identify solutions, writing requirements that support the solution and assessing available technologies to create development specifications. The Business Systems Programmer/Analyst will evaluate the internal technical needs of the organization and recommend solutions, define the system and functional requirements, perform both programming and analysis tasks on internal business systems, and develop and modify internal application, operating, or database systems.

The Business Systems Programmer/Analyst will also provide support – including correcting issues that arise from customer usage, identifying configuration changes required, supporting related systems, creating detailed test cases, contributing to testing and results analysis and documenting all programming and systems changes.

The Business Systems Programmer/Analyst will be involved with integrating systems from multiple vendors to create cohesive value chain solutions for customers, and will enhance product life-cycle management

Level IV

The Business System Programmer/Analyst – Level IV is expected to be technically proficient, and an expert in some/all of the applications they are responsible for supporting. They are expected to be able to effectively lead implementation projects, including technical implementations and process analysis/ improvement efforts. The Business System Programmer/Analyst – Level IV is expected to lead efforts collaboratively with customers, identify process opportunities, clearly define projects, and lead efforts that add value to our customers and patients.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Lead workflow analysis and enhancement efforts
  • Lead the implementation of new or updated applications
  • Lead team support responsibilities, including on-call rotation
  • Operationalize support tasks collaboratively with customers and stakeholders
  • Drive product roadmap and product life-cycle management efforts

Supervision

  • This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities, however may lead project teams/workflow

Contact with Others

  • Primary contacts will be internal to Information Technology
  • Contact with other Albany Med departments will be moderate and in support of job specific activities or in the supervision of projects.
  • Contact with vendors will be expected in support of problem resolution or future product functionality - may engage in product development strategy discussions
  • Contact with others outside Albany Med will consist of engagement in job specific forums/organizations for technical collaboration, as well as an expectation to collaborate with other health care organizations for best practices and knowledge sharing

Other

  • Provide on-call, extended weekday and weekend support for on-site and off-site locations, as warranted by critical business requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality by using and communicating information only as needed to perform one’s duties
  • Perform at or above the Information Services performance standards
