Conduct interviews with patients and families to insure insurance coverage which includesobtaining benefit information and pre-certification.Make referrals to financial assistance services for patients with less than 100% coverage.This position will also perform Scheduling duties when needed.
2 years insurance verification or registration experience in a hospital or physician office.
Knowledge of medical insurance and billing requirements.
Proficient in Flowcast, HQ, eCAOS, MISYS, Spheris.
Knowledge of state and federal medical assistance and health services programs preferred.
Ability to organize, take independent action and project Cooper values to customers and
co-workers.
Experienced scheduling, front desk, and basic knowledge of hospital/physician coding.
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Skilled in use of computers and software applications, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, registration and billing systems.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
