Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by Farm student housing for 300 + youth, a Thrift Store, Cafe, Barbershop and Church open to the community incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Post insurance payments, denials, adjustments, recoupments, and patient payments accurately and timely

Review electronic remittance advice (ERA/EOB) for accuracy and completeness

Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied payments, and posting errors

Reconcile daily deposits and payment batches

Identify trends in denials, underpayments, and payer issues and escalate as needed
-
Work closely with billing, collections, contracting, and credentialing teams to resolve claims issues
-
Maintain payer-specific posting guidelines and documentation standards
-
Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation processes

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company confidentiality standards

Support additional revenue cycle functions as assigned
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
-
Minimum 1–2 years of healthcare insurance posting or medical billing experience preferred

Behavioral health, residential treatment, outpatient, or PRTF experience strongly preferred
-
Knowledge of Medicaid, commercial insurance, and managed care reimbursement
-
Experience with ERAs, EOBs, and clearinghouses

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet deadlines
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and electronic health record/billing systems
-
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.
Preferred Experience
-
Experience with payer portals and denial management
-
Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and UB-04 claim forms
-
Experience working in a fast-paced revenue cycle environment
