What You’ll Do

As an Insurance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Group Risk & Assurance team by helping the business identify and manage insurable risks, identify opportunities and maintain effective insurance programmes across the NRMA Group.

Reporting to the Risk and Insurance Manager, this role sits within our Group Finance function and supports the Group’s internal insurance program across our Road, Reward and Travel businesses. As an in-house role operating within a corporate environment, you’ll work across a diverse portfolio of businesses, supporting the manager in end-to-end insurance program management including claims management and providing insurance guidance on contracts and business initiatives, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and outcomes across the organisation. Working closely with internal stakeholders, brokers and insurers, you’ll manage competing priorities while contributing to a practical and sustainable insurance approach.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering hybrid work arrangements, with attendance at our Sydney Olympic Park and/or Sydney CBD offices as required.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate end-to-end claims across multiple policy lines (General, Marine, Financial, Non-Financial), working with internal business stakeholders, brokers and insurers.
  • Lead insurance reviews and recommendations for contracts, business initiatives, tenders, endorsements and general insurance enquiries (with broker/manager support as needed).
  • Collate and conduct preliminary review of information required for the annual insurance renewal process.
  • Undertake preliminary review of terms presented by insurance brokers and coordinate internal feedback.
  • Manage insurance premium, claims and endorsement-related payments.
  • Maintain and report insurance claims, streamline reporting, ensure data accuracy and respond to business unit queries as required.
  • Prepare business unit ARMC pack content for insurance and draft insurance-related ARMC papers.
  • Prepare the annual insurance budget and cost allocations for group recharging, including stakeholder communications.
  • Liaise with appointed insurance brokers to ensure effective insurance management and conduct insurance awareness/training sessions for the Group.
  • Lead the agenda for regular broker and insurer meetings and support broker agreement renewal processes.
  • Guide business divisions by conducting appropriate insurance risk assessments on contracts, acquisitions and similar activities (with manager input).
  • Lead technology and process improvement projects involving insurance.
  • Support acquisition/divestment insurance due diligence, placement and transition requirements.
  • Support the Manager in delivering a sustainable insurance strategy for the Group

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor degree in a Finance discipline.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a role requiring insurance (broking or industry) is essential.
  • Audit, risk and controls experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong focus on data accuracy and reporting quality.
  • Strong data interpretation capability.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and apply existing skills in new areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS SharePoint, including the use of AI tools for process efficiency.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deliverables at the same time.
  • Comfort working with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Initiative, enthusiasm and the drive to achieve outcomes.
