The Insurance Accounting Production Associate is Responsible for assisting in all aspects of Insurance accounting, including, but not limited to, production, commissions, transactions, premium finance revenue, and workflows. The Insurance Accounting Production Associate will work closely with the Insurance Production Specialist and the Insurance Operations Accounting Director to ensure quality assurance and data integrity throughout all of INSURICA and related subsidiaries.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare monthly producer commission reports and submit to management for approval
  • Prepare commission payments as required
  • Prepare finance company override reports every month
  • Backup for all Insurance Production Accounting-related job functions, as well as handle complex insurance accounting matters (i.e., discrepancies, etc.)
  • Generate reports and prepare allocation for profit-sharing payments through all agencies for consistency
  • Monitor the accuracy of employee commission rates in EPIC, compared to executed employee agreements
  • Work with Business Analysis, as needed, to ensure accounts are ready to move from one agency to another
  • Auditing of billing transactions for accuracy to ensure consistent audit practices
  • Perform ad hoc research, on accounting production analysis, as requested
  • Assure compliance with INSURICA’s accounting guidelines and procedures, as they pertain to production
  • Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in the accounting field
  • 2-3 years of experience in the insurance field
  • Experience in a shared services accounting environment is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of Insurance Accounting Operations
  • Advanced PC skills, with a proficiency in MS Office Suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Excellent math skills, with the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, changing priority environment
  • Self-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directed
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues and managers, across all levels
  • Ability to promote and maintain a team environment, willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies and the Agency
  • Ability to successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentiality

Work Conditions and Accommodations

  • Fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing priorities
  • Ability to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display
