đź’Ą Your Impact

Insurance at Coverflex sits somewhere between sales, advisory and getting things done.

You’ll own insurance opportunities end to end, combining the commercial relationship with the technical work required to turn a customer need into the right insurance solution.

That means talking to customers, understanding what they need, working with insurers to build and negotiate proposals, managing quotations and placement, and ultimately helping us turn those opportunities into revenue.

We’re deliberately looking for someone who can do both sides of the job. You’re commercially comfortable, but you also understand insurance well enough to manage the process without handing everything over once the customer says yes.

You’ll know you’re successful when, after 90 days, you’ve:

  • Taken ownership of insurance opportunities from customer conversation through quotation and placement

  • Built credible relationships with customers and key insurance partners

  • Started converting opportunities into new insurance revenue

  • Shown that you can independently navigate insurers, proposals, documentation and follow ups

  • Become a trusted insurance reference for the wider Sales and Customer teams

How we’ll measure success:

Main KPI 1: Insurance revenue generated against your commercial target
Main KPI 2: Opportunities progressed and converted
Main KPI 3: Quality and speed of quotations and placement
Main KPI 4: Carrier relationships and negotiation effectiveness

⚡ Reality Check: What Makes This Role Hard

This isn’t a traditional SaaS Account Executive role, and it isn’t a back office insurance role either.

You’ll need to move comfortably between the customer and the insurer.

Sometimes you’ll be discussing a solution with HR or Finance. Sometimes you’ll be negotiating conditions with an insurer. Sometimes you’ll be chasing documentation, correcting missing information or following up repeatedly to get a policy issued.

Insurance processes aren’t always beautifully streamlined, so getting things across the line requires persistence, organisation and strong industry knowledge.

You’ll also work across opportunities of different sizes and complexity. As we automate more of the simpler quotation work, your expertise will increasingly matter on larger or more complex accounts where negotiation, judgement and relationships make a real difference.

👤 You

Must haves

  • 5+ years experience working in the Spanish insurance market, ideally within a broker or brokerage environment

  • Level 2 Insurance Mediation/Distribution License or higher

  • Strong knowledge of corporate insurance, particularly health insurance

  • Experience managing insurance customers or portfolios with commercial responsibility

  • Comfortable identifying opportunities, advising customers and closing business

  • Able to build strong relationships with insurers and navigate their organisations effectively, negotiating conditions, creating leverage and knowing who to involve to move complex opportunities forward.

  • Confident working with different customer stakeholders, particularly HR and Finance

  • Strong organisation and follow through across multiple customers, insurers and processes

  • Fluent Spanish and comfortable working in English

Nice to have

  • Experience across additional employee insurance products such as life and pensions

  • Existing relationships with insurers in the Spanish market

  • Experience managing larger or more complex corporate accounts

  • Experience with renewals and portfolio management

  • Experience using CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce

You do not need previous startup or SaaS experience. What matters more is that you know insurance, can manage customers commercially and are comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast moving environment.

🧬 Your DNA

  • Commercial: you’re comfortable talking about value, negotiating and being accountable for revenue

  • Insurance fluent: you understand the technical side well enough to move from customer need to viable solution

  • Persistent: when a quotation or activation requires ten follow ups, the eleventh doesn’t scare you

  • Influential: you understand that insurance is a relationship driven industry. You build credibility, read stakeholders well and know when to negotiate, push, escalate or invest in a relationship for the longer term.

  • Pragmatic: you care more about getting the right solution implemented than protecting artificial boundaries between “sales” and “placement”

  • Organised: customers, carriers, proposals and next steps don’t live inside your head

  • Consultative: you can build trust without becoming purely reactive or relationship driven

  • Collaborative: you work closely with Sales, Customer Success and the wider Insurance team rather than operating as a solo commercial function

You’ll probably find this frustrating if...

  • You only want to hunt and expect someone else to manage the technical insurance work once an opportunity progresses

  • You prefer pure placement or operational work and don’t want responsibility for commercial outcomes

  • You’re uncomfortable owning a revenue target

  • You need clearly separated responsibilities and highly structured processes

  • You don’t enjoy dealing directly with both customers and insurers

  • AI Tools: may be used to turn interview notes/transcripts into clear, structured summaries.

Important: every application is reviewed by a human, and no decision or rejection is made by AI. If recording is used, we’ll be transparent and (where required) ask for consent.
