PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility of the incumbent is to ensure the continuous operation of the plant’s instrumentation, electrical systems, controls, computers and peripherals, and CCTV equipment. This is achieved through the maintenance, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and documentation of process equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Below is a brief description of the day-to-day role of this position,
- Track and review process data to detect early signs of equipment issues or failures and take appropriate action.
- Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, test, and calibrate various equipment, including CCTV systems, discrete and analog devices, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, computers, peripheral troubleshooting and repairs, vision systems, transmitters (such as pressure, flow, pH, etc.), and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
- Create and update documentation for equipment.
- Work independently on assigned tasks.
- Respond to calls related to process issues.
- Perform equipment installations and improvement upgrades.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, setting a positive example for others.
- Make recommendations regarding quantities and potential work time for proposed upgrades, installations, repairs, and projects.
- Maintain clean and orderly conditions in all working areas.
- Ensure that duties are performed in a fiscally responsible manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Describe the working environment (e.g., office, plant).
The incumbent works in a 24/7 glass products manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, moving vehicles, heavy equipment, moving machinery, chemicals (liquid, gas, and solid), temperatures/materials in excess of 1500 degrees (F), broken and broken glass, overhead cranes, confined areas, high noise, and the full range of ambient temperatures.
The incumbent must be capable of safely operating vehicles, observing and responding to the total environment, both stationary and moving; be capable to reading instructions; be capable of operating in “limited” spaces.
The working conditions are approximately 20% office/instrumentation laboratory and 80% plant floor.
The position requires 24-hour availability. Holiday work and weekend duty are required at times. In the event of production issues or during project work, long hours may be necessary. This position may require working a rotating schedule.

In accordance with California law, the expected range for this California position is $23.95-$38.06. per hour.
