Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Instrumentation Coordinator to join the Mineral Resource Management Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Hydrogeology Superintendent, the Instrumentation Coordinator is leading the team that maintains, operates and supports the mine’s geotechnical, hydrogeological and slope monitoring instrumentation systems.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain the availability, reliability and operational readiness of geotechnical, hydrogeological and slope monitoring instrumentation systems
• Ensure that radar, prism, VWP and other monitoring systems are inspected, serviced, maintained and kept clean as required.
• Ensure all monitoring and instrumentation equipment is serviced, tested and calibrated in accordance with manufacturer requirements, site standards and approved procedures.
• Support the implementation, commissioning and operation of the VWP telemetry system.
• Support the development and implementation of the borehole automation system for remote, real-time management of dewatering wells.
• Coordinate with Mine OT and IT teams on communications, system integration, server access and platform availability.
• Liaise with original equipment manufacturers, technology providers and service contractors to resolve technical issues and maintain appropriate support and maintenance agreements.
• Ensure that maintenance tools, test equipment, service kits, spare parts, telemetry components and other critical consumables are available when required.
• Maintain appropriate stocks of spare pumps, pump accessories, cables, sensors, communication equipment and other critical spares.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment condition, inspections, calibrations, repairs, failures and outstanding defects.
• Prepare and manage the budget for geotechnical and hydrogeological instrumentation, maintenance and associated services.
• Develop, review and maintain standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures and inspection checklists for instrumentation and automation systems.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members and support progression through the applicable skills matrix.
• Contribute to succession planning and the development of internal technical capability.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, approved designs and relevant statutory requirements.
• Promote a proactive maintenance culture focused on system reliability, data quality and early identification of developing faults.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate
• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or a related discipline
• At least five years’ experience supervising teams in an engineering, instrumentation, electrical, automation or mining environment
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting field instrumentation, telemetry or industrial monitoring systems.
• Holder of a valid Zambian Driver’s License
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
