Job Description

The Instrumentation & Control Specialist performs the calibration of production and building-related equipment as well as the building’s support systems. The incumbent is required to work with different automates and programming languages. He performs calibration, equipment failure analyses, as well as the required repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Respect and implement Health & Safety and GMP rules.
  • Install, calibrate, validate, modify or reorganize control instruments or similar equipment based on plans, drawings or instructions received.
  • Perform minor electrical work on production and building equipment.
  • Issue calibration certificates, according to internal procedures.
  • Perform instrument calibrations on building systems (ventilation, water system, compressed air, etc.) and on production and laboratory equipment, and replace them if required.
  • Master and comply with USP standards in the practice of calibration.
  • Research the technical specifications of system and equipment components and ensure that they meet production needs.
  • Participate in carrying out investigations, change control, CAPA and deviations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects: cost reduction, equipment optimization.
  • Assist the validation group during system installations and qualifications.
  • Prepare purchase requests.
  • Intervene on production equipment (troubleshooting, operation according to the internal program).
  • Intervene on building equipment (operation according to the internal program).
  • Optimize/improve the operation of the BAS.
  • Update the various automatons on the site.
  • Automate second-generation equipment

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Rigorous in all aspects of his work.
  • Respectful of all company requirements and policies.
  • Can manage numerous requests at the same time - Multi tasks.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, demonstrating autonomy and efficiency.
  • Polyvalent, resourceful, capable of performing mecanical tasks if needed.
  • Creative - capable of finding solutions to problems.
  • Good team worker.
  • Familiar with C++ language, Bac-Net, Ladder
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft office, programmable automates, etc.)
  • Available for operational needs.
  • Bilingual - This person will be required to work with suppliers and/or clients located outside the province of Quebec
