Job Description

1. Design & Engineering

  • Develop control system architecture for irrigation schemes, including pumping stations, reservoirs, canals, and distribution networks

  • Design and specify instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, water quality, etc.)

  • Prepare P&IDs, control philosophies, functional design specifications, and I/O lists

  • Select and configure PLCs, RTUs, and communication networks

2. SCADA Systems Development

  • Design and implement SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and control

  • Develop HMI interfaces, dashboards, and alarm management systems

  • Integrate telemetry systems (GPRS/3G/4G, radio, fiber, satellite) for remote site communication

  • Ensure cybersecurity considerations and system redundancy

3. Installation & Commissioning

  • Supervise installation of instrumentation and control systems on-site

  • Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT)

  • Lead system commissioning, loop checking, and calibration of instruments

  • Troubleshoot system faults and optimize performance

4. Operations & Maintenance Support

  • Provide technical support for operation and maintenance teams

  • Develop O&M manuals and training materials

  • Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or improvements

  • Ensure system reliability and data accuracy

5. Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineers

  • Review contractor submissions and shop drawings

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements

  • Support procurement processes and vendor evaluations

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare technical reports, as-built documentation, and system manuals

  • Maintain records of system configurations and changes

  • Report on project progress, risks, and mitigation measures
