The Instrument Technician is responsible for the maintenance of all plant instrumentation and control systems not maintained by outside contract.
The incumbent will have a working knowledge of controls systems and test equipment normally used for instrumentation trouble evaluation and repair. The position requires an ability to glean information from service manuals, blueprints, schematics, and trouble reports as necessary for the performance of assigned duties.
Aid in the preventive maintenance of instrumentation and controls systems as required for safety, dependability, accuracy and to suggest those changes or modifications that will improve overall plant operation.
This position requires a High School diploma or equivalency certificate, (G.E.D.) and a technical level of education and or experience that will permit assignments engaged in the application, design assistance, installation and maintenance of measurement and control instrumentation systems utilized within an industrial manufacturing facility.
Minimum 5 years instrument maintenance experience.
Achieve steady progress toward obtaining, obtain and then maintain a certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level II Certification as administered by the Instrument Society of America (ISA) or equivalent* within 3 years of entering the Instrument Technician position.
*Industrial Instrumentation Engineering Technology Level II Certification as administered by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
