Albemarle is hiring for an Instrument Mechanic 1/C in Pasadena, Texas This position will be in-office

What you will do

  • Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair critical instrumentation including transmitters, control valves, flow meters, temperature elements, and gas detection systems

  • Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation, control, and measurement issues to support safe and efficient plant operations

  • Execute and document inspections for critical, environmental, quality, and maintenance instrumentation systems

  • Maintain and repair electrical components such as motor starters, breakers, lighting systems, and mobile equipment

  • Inspect, adjust, and repair process-related equipment including weight scales used for verification and control

  • Support operations by diagnosing complex process control issues and ensuring accurate measurements and system reliability

  • Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and specifications while installing and maintaining process instrumentation systems including impulse tubing and air supply

What you bring

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • NCCER certification in Industrial Instrumentation

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation in a petrochemical or similar environment

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial electrical systems

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair pneumatic, electronic, and analytical instrumentation systems

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with operations and follow direction from senior technicians or supervisors

  • Willingness to cross-train as an Electrician, work overtime, and support shift schedules as needed

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Associate of Science degree in Industrial Instrumentation or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in an industrial or petrochemical plant environment

  • 5+ years of experience with industrial electrical systems

  • Experience with DCS/PLC systems, including basic programming and troubleshooting

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other systems (e.g., Workday, SharePoint, Adobe)

  • Ability to read, interpret, and create blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings

  • Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency with instrumentation test equipment and tools
