The Office of Juvenile Justice is seeking a skilled and motivated Welding Instructor who’s passionate about helping young people build real-world skills and a pathway to success. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Louisiana teaching certification or eligibility for certification
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Ability to work effectively with at-risk youth in a secure care setting
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Job Duties:
Teach welding, entry-level job skills, and employability skills to youth in secure care.
Plan lessons, organize the classroom, and create a safe, supportive environment for learning.
Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet different learning styles and skill levels.
Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and required reports; submit all documentation on time.
Communicate effectively with students and staff and participate in school meetings and committees.
Continue developing professional skills through training, workshops, and ongoing learning.
Follow all OJJ and DOE policies and perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
