The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor, Research in the Department of Medicine.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • provide support in writing, revising and proof reading research grant applications and in handling internal management processes.
  • facilitate obtaining approvals from the university Research Office and submission to the granting agency
  • review manuscripts received for publications and provide suggestions before submission to the journal
  • provide support in editing Research grants and manuscripts for refining the English in papers.
  • proof read and forms the manuscript before submission according to the journal guidelines.
  • communicate and provide feedback to authors in case areas of improvements are identified by the reviewers
  • develop research survey, questionnaire, or tests and prepare research manuscripts and research presentations
  • assess training gaps and develop new courses for residents and faculty, teach synopsis writing, epidemiology and biostatistics courses and other topics to the residents
  • conduct periodic audits to validate that the research being conducted in the department conforms to institutional standards of ethical and professional practice
  • streamline synopsis and thesis submission process

Requirements:

  • MBBS/ M Phil /MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics
  • experience of community based research with respect to data collection, storage, field editing, quality checks and data entry
  • good command in written and spoken Urdu and English with fluency in local language
  • good communication skills
  • good teaching skills and knowledge of new teaching methodologies and practices
  • well versed with current research methodologies with a preferable track record of publications
  • good conceptual and analytical skills
  • proficiency in use of related computer software packages
