Introduction:

The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the Aga Khan University is dedicated to providing cutting-edge clinical services to children. We offer high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate training, including subspecialty training and research opportunities. Our inpatient facilities feature a Paediatric ward with two units totaling 84 beds and a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (Neonatal/Paediatric & Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care units) equipped with the latest technologies and protocols. Additionally, our Paediatric Cardiology section offers a recognized three-year Fellowship training program accredited by CPSP.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• Manage patients in consultation with consultants in Pediatric Infection Diseases, other pediatric sub-specialties and surgeons to detect and pre-empt untoward changes in patients’ condition.

• Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and procedures in consultation with senior faculty/consultants, such as sedatives, diets, antibiotics, and preparation and treatment of the patient's operative area.

• Analyze patient's medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination results to ascertain best possible clinical care.

• Involved in on-call service with a full-time faculty and will liaise with them, in matters arising on the call days.

• Supervise all Pediatric Infection Diseases related clinical activities.

• Develop and maintain good professional relationship with nursing staff and faculty/consultant.

Requirements:

You must have completed a structured post-graduate training in Pediatric medicine from a reputable institution and possess FCPS Part II or equivalent. You should also have valid PMDC license. Any experience in Pediatric gastroenterology will be an added advantage.
