Nazarbayev University (NU), established in 2010, is the leading research-intensive university in Central Asia and an English-medium institution committed to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement. Nazarbayev University School of Medicine (NUSOM) was established in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and welcomed its first MD students in 2015. Since then, NUSOM has developed into a rapidly growing academic medical institution offering undergraduate, graduate, residency, and doctoral programs. The School is committed to advancing medical education, biomedical research, and healthcare innovation to improve the health and well-being of populations in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and beyond.

NUSOM is home to an internationally diverse faculty and student body and provides a collaborative academic environment that supports excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice. Faculty members benefit from access to modern research laboratories, extensive institutional support for research and grant development, and a state-of-the-art Simulation Center spanning more than 5,000 square meters, one of the largest and most advanced facilities of its kind in the region.

NUSOM invites applications for Instructor Positions (full and part-time) in the following areas:

• Statistics and Epidemiology
• Qualitative Methods and Implementation Science
• Evidence-Based Medicine and Research Synthesis
• Health Policy and Health Economics
• Anesthesiology and Critical Care
• Internal Medicine
• Pediatrics
• Obstetrics and Gynecology

Faculty members are expected to contribute to NUSOM's growing research portfolio through scholarly activity, collaboration with national and international partners, and mentorship of students and trainees. Opportunities exist to participate in multidisciplinary research initiatives across clinical, translational, public health, and biomedical sciences.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess:

• MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal professional degree;
• Board certification or equivalent specialist certification in the relevant discipline;
• Demonstrated clinical, teaching, and research accomplishments;
• A strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence;
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
