The Instructor plays a key role in supporting fathers in the FORGE program by designing curriculum, guiding orientation, and delivering instruction that empowers them in their reentry journey and personal growth. This role provides guidance to participants facing a range of barriers, including limited adult basic education, foundational workforce and/or digital skills gaps. The instructor facilitates fatherhood centered classes for program cohorts across the Goodwill SWPA region and at community partner sites. This role requires an agile and engaging educator who develops and delivers curriculum both in person and virtually, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all participants. The Instructor will maintain flexibility in hours, with the typical schedule being Monday through Friday, inclusive of some scheduled evenings and may also include occasional weekends.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Adapt instructional approaches to meet students’ learning styles while upholding classroom and program rules and policies.
  • Provide basic technical support and digital skills training relating to internet services, computer and device characteristics, and online services and applications via phone, virtual, and in-person instruction.
  • Assess individual and cohort accessibility to technology and current digital skill level(s) as related to connectivity needs and internet use priorities.
  • Consult with the team to develop participants’ educational goals and share progress notes with Service Navigators to enhance case management services.
  • Research, outline and plan Individual Instruction Plans (IIP) and cohort lesson plans embedding departmental and contractual standards.
  • Collaborate with reintegration department to identify educational and workforce gaps and make recommendations for program improvement.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client education and workforce activities.
  • Assist individuals in filling out applications or questionnaires used for enrollment into Goodwill’s programs or services.

External hiring range: $18.25 - $18.98/hour

Travel required: Yes, local travel is required. A valid Driver's License is required to be hired for this role.

Schedule Monday - Friday. some evenings and weekends will be required. Schedule can vary depending on department needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND 5+ years of required experience,
  • Associates degree AND 3+ years of required experience, OR
  • Bachelors degree AND 1 years of required experience

Required experience:

  • Experience teaching, tutoring, or facilitating instruction
  • Database and/or case management software to track participant and program progress

Preferred experience:

  • Prior experience in locating community and social services for at-risk, vulnerable adult populations
  • HMRF programing who exemplifies potential as a future fatherhood leader

REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates are expected to provide current valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH) prior to first day of employment.
  • Must have valid driver's license
