Instructor for Spanish Language


Language: Tico Spanish (S
pecific dialect of Costa Rica).

Student: One a
dult
student seeking to learn Spanish.

Student native language: English.

Schedule:
2x per week for 60 minutes; available weekdays between 1pm and 3pm.

The STAR7 LLC Academy team
works with clients such as
companies and relocation companies to provide language training for families
moving to new countries.


We are currently recruiting a Freelance Spanish Language Instructor to deliver remote lessons to an adult student in Heredia, Costa Rica. This assignment may also lead to
additional opportunities in the future, supporting other students (virtual
and/or in-person).


Key Responsibilities -
in this role you will:


  • Design and deliver engaging one-to-one lessons tailored to the student’s level, goals, and learning style.

  • Focus on basic conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary,
    cultural concepts
    and grammar in Spanish.

  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to support continuous improvement.

  • Encourage active participation and build the student’s confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish.

  • Adapt teaching methods and pace based on the student’s evolving needs.

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with the student and project manager.


Requirements


  • Native or near-native proficiency in Costa Rica Spanish.

  • Proven experience in teaching/instructuring Spanish as a second language, preferably in a one-to-one setting.

  • Strong knowledge of Spanish grammar, pronunciation, and usage.

  • Ability to create engaging and personalized lesson plans.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered approach.

  • A degree in Spanish, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is a plus.

  • TEFL/TESOL certification or equivalent is preferred.
